How to Get Here

The fastest way to get to Tighza is for us to arrange 4 x 4 pick up from the airport or your accommodation. We only use drivers we know well and who have many years of experience of working in tourism. 4 x 4s give you the flexibility to stop at will for refreshment breaks and to take photos of the stunning scenery.

Self drive from Marrakech, take the road to Ouarzazate which will take you over Tizi and Tichka then 19km after Taddart there is a left turning signposted Telouet (don’t take the first access road as it is a blind bend and no entry, there is another left turn past the corner), Take the road all the way to Telouet and straight on beyond that to Animeter. You can park in Animeter and be met to bring you up to the house. Alternatively just before you get into Animeter there is a left turn with various accommodation signs saying Tighza (which is 5km from Animeter), the road goes across a dry riverbed keep going, the road bends to the right in Ighris keep following it across a ford and carry on to another right hand bend at the brow of the hill, pass the large concrete building on the right and take the left hand turn after that, go up the hill and turn left in front of a tall stone wall which has a small wooden sign on it, keep going until you can’t drive any further and there is a turning place between 2 buildings on either side of the road where it turns into a mule track. Please note that some hire car companies don’t like people driving on piste (unmade) roads.

Alternatively you can get to Tighza by the Tichka Express (Local coach on the outskirts of Marrakech) which leaves from Bab Ghemat (Pronounced more like Bab Ohrehmat), be there by midday and arrives in Animeter at around 7pm. We can arrange local transport to bring you the 5km up to the village.

Local transport and taxis are cheap but very slow as they stop regularly and do not bring you all the way to the village.
